The website is finally finished just the way I wanted, but I intentionally saved this section for last, because it honestly required the right... "mood".
But well, it’s time for that very first post.
To be honest, 16 years ago, I already had a website dedicated to my photography journey. If you’ve read the 'About Me' page, you probably know the story behind it: caught up in other personal projects, I inadvertently let go of the joy photography brought me. The website silently vanished because I forgot to renew the domain and hosting (haha 😅). The saddest part was losing all my photos from back then, as my old computer couldn't make the trip to Australia with me.
Back in the day, when building a website, I only focused on designing the look and feel, then had to hire a coder to bring the code to life. This time, having AI work assistants by my side gives me full control and saves so much time. Every single detail of this website was hand-customized to reflect my personality, with no pre-made frameworks or templates, so rest assured, koori.photos is truly one of a kind, haha!

The photos you see on this site are the few remaining memories I managed to piece back together, salvaged from old emails sent to clients, or downloaded from other websites that still hosted my work.
Photography was one of my earliest passions, and the very first gig that earned me an income. Ten years later, here I am, finding my way back to it.
Though I always knew I’d pick up a camera again someday, I thought I’d only be shooting for my family, my girlfriend, and... my future wife and kids.

Well, no sign of a wife or kids yet 🤪, but I’m officially back, haha!
To be honest, during my years living in Melbourne, I never quite felt like I was doing what I truly loved, what I was best at, and actually making a living off it. But looking back at photos I took over a decade ago, I realized I had left behind a spark that should have been reignited much sooner.
At the risk of sounding a bit boastful 🙈, looking at my work from over 10 years ago, I still think... "man, these look great!" Which made me wonder: picking up a camera again now, do I still hold that same essence and soul in every frame?

This website was born as an answer to that question, a place to preserve old memories and mark my next chapter in this new land, leaving behind the Saigon of yesterday.
Most importantly, I finally have a quiet corner of my own to write. I love telling the stories behind each photograph. Writing here feels vastly different from social media. On social platforms, people just happen to scroll past your posts. But here, only those who truly care will drop by, take their time to read, or maybe even listen to me playing the piano while reading 🎹
That is perhaps the most precious thing, and the biggest motivation for me to complete this website.
